Josh Rubin

Josh Rubin is a Director of Sustainable Finance at BMO Commercial Bank, where he covers the food, agribusiness, and biofuels sectors from the firm’s San Francisco office. He joined BMO in 2024, bringing diverse, hands-on experience across agribusiness, production agriculture, and sustainable operations. Josh has worked with a broad range of agricultural systems and commodities, including row crops, vegetable production, permanent crops such as vineyards and orchards, and controlled environment agriculture. Throughout his career, he has led the development of sustainability strategies and advanced the adoption of innovative agricultural technologies, driving both environmental outcomes and improved profitability.
Prior to joining BMO, Josh developed and commercially launched a unique platform for pesticide-free, vertically farmed soft fruits and vegetables in the greater New York City area. Josh holds an undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as graduate degrees in Horticulture and Plant Genetics from the University of California, Davis, and Business Administration from California State University. He remains actively engaged with leading research and development programs in food science and agriculture.
