James is Head, Enterprise Sustainable Finance Solutions at BMO, where he works across the bank’s front‑line businesses to deliver financing, investment, and advisory solutions that align clients’ financial objectives with positive climate and sustainability outcomes. His work focuses on blended finance structures, the integration of climate risk into commercial lending, and financing emerging clean technologies, including building retrofits and other decarbonization solutions.

Previously, James held roles in BMO’s Office of Strategic Management and Sustainable Finance team, where he supported the Executive Committee on strategic decision‑making and helped shape the bank’s climate strategy. Prior to joining BMO, he was a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group in London, advising clients across energy, financial services, and public policy. James also served for eight years as a military intelligence officer in the Royal Air Force, including tours of duty in Afghanistan and the Middle East.
