Head of Specialty Markets, BMO Commercial Banking
Henry Munez is Group Head of BMO Harris Commercial Bank and oversees its Specialty Markets business, which includes the Food, Consumer & Agribusiness, Franchise Finance, Mid-Corporate Banking, Asset Based Lending, and Healthcare groups. Previously, Henry was BMO’s Illinois Market Executive and Segment Head of Commercial Middle Market and Mid-Corporate Banking. Prior to joining BMO Commercial Bank in 2008, Henry led a commercial banking division in the National Institutional Real Estate group for LaSalle Bank N.A., covering private equity sponsors and real estate operating companies based in the New York City and Washington, D.C., markets. He started his banking career as a credit analyst at LaSalle and has been a relationship manager for commercial and industrial middle-market companies.
Henry holds a joint MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and York University’s Schulich School of Business, as well as a B.A. in economics and finance with a minor in psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Henry is also very active in the community. He is currently a member of the Economic Club of Chicago’s Membership Finance Committee and serves on the board of several nonprofit organizations, including the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Western Golf Association. He is currently Vice Chair of the United Way of Metro Chicago’s Corporate Cabinet Board. He has previously served on the executive boards of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Illinois, the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, Leading India’s Future Today, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago.
