Managing Director & Group Head, Corporate Advisory
Dan Murphy is a Managing Director and leads the BMO Corporate Advisory practice. He regularly serves as a strategic adviser to the owners, boards and management teams of privately held businesses on a variety of topics, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder buyouts, recapitalizations, ESOPs, ownership transitions, valuation, and liquidity events. Dan has been with BMO since 2012 and has 15 years of corporate finance experience.
Prior to BMO, Dan spent four years as a management consultant at Galt & Company, where he worked on a variety of deep-dive corporate strategy engagements, specializing in corporate transformations of Fortune 500 companies.
Dan holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s in finance from the University of Notre Dame. A native of the Chicagoland area, Dan relocated to Dallas in 2019, helping to grow BMO’s presence throughout the South and Southwest.
