Brian Bateman is Head of BMO’s Emerging Middle Market business across Northern California, Northern Nevada, and the Pacific Northwest. He leads regional teams that support emerging middle-market companies across a broad range of industries.

Brian brings more than two decades of commercial banking experience, including leadership roles spanning business banking, commercial lending, SBA lending, and credit management. Since joining BMO, he has held several senior leadership positions, most recently overseeing regional teams in Central and Northern California and Nevada.

A committed leader and mentor, Brian has contributed to enterprise-wide leadership initiatives and forums focused on talent development and operational excellence. He is deeply engaged in the Greater Sacramento community and served for 12 years on the Board of the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento, including four years as President.
