Brian Bateman is the Group Manager for Emerging Middle Market for Northern California. Emerging Middle Markets focuses on clients with revenues in the $10MM-$50MM across all industries. He leads a team of Region Managers covering locations in SF Bay, East Bay, South Bay, Fresno and Sacramento. Each Region consists of 8-10 Relationship Managers and supports approximately $20MM in revenue. Brian has been with BMO/Bank of the West for 4 years with prior experience at Wells Fargo for 20 years. His management experience has ranged all over the country such as Hawaii, Alaska, Idaho, Washington and California. In the last 14 years, he was the Commercial Lending Manager, Business Banking Manager and Sr. SBA Lending Manager. In his immediate prior role at BMO/Bank of the West, he was the Regional Manager for Central CA and Nevada. Additionally, he was Sr. Division Credit Manager with the Middle Market team overseeing Agribusiness markets in Northern and Central CA along with the PNW.

Throughout his career, Brian has been a consistent leader and mentor. He was a leader on the Better Faster Academy Project for all of West Coast Business Banking, and previously led the CLO Manager Forum. Brian has been an active member of the Greater Sacramento community and served on the Board for the Children’s Receiving Home of Sacramento for 12 years including 4 as President. Brian has also been a member of several Diversity Council groups throughout his career.

Brian resides in Roseville, CA with his wife and two daughters. Outside of the office, he enjoys sports, BBQing, but most importantly spending time with friends and family!
