Amr Guendia
Managing Director and Region Head, Northern California and Pacific Northwest
Amr Guendia serves as the Managing Director and Region Head for BMO Commercial Banking US covering the Northern California and Pacific Northwest markets. In his role he leads the Diversified Industries commercial banking teams across the geography covering industries and sectors including real estate, technology, food and agriculture, manufacturing, retail, consumer products, and healthcare.
Amr has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry primarily focused on leveraged finance and sponsor coverage. Prior to joining Bank of the West / BNP Paribas (now BMO) in 2018, Amr was Senior Vice President, Business Development at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, charged with leading their new client acquisition efforts in the San Francisco-Bay Area with particular focus on mid-cap corporates and middle market businesses.
In 2015, Amr moved to the Bay Area from Toronto, Canada. In his last role at HSBC in Toronto, he was Co-Lead of HSBC Canada’s newly created Financial Sponsors / Leveraged Finance business, focusing on financing top-tier Canadian Middle Market Financial sponsors acquiring mid-cap and middle market portfolio companies in both Canada and the United States.
Before joining HSBC Canada in 2014, he spent 7 years with Roynat Capital, the leading middle market merchant bank and Scotiabank Group subsidiary focused on providing growth capital for businesses through senior, subordinated, and mezzanine debt structures. In his last role at Roynat he led a team of corporate finance professionals dedicated to finance M&A and growth capital in Canada’s Technology Capital, Kitchener-Waterloo.
Amr has a BAH in Applied Economics from Queen’s University.
