Derek is accountable for BMO Financial Group’s North American Treasury and Payment Solutions (TPS) business, including Treasury Management, Commercial Deposits, Corporate Cards, Global Trade and BMO’s Business to Business (B2B) digital and payment strategies. 

Prior to this role, Derek was Head, North American Treasury and Payments Product Management and Enterprise Payments Modernization responsible for product strategy and the technology roadmap for a diverse set of commercial payment products.  

Derek has more than 25 years of North American commercial payments and product management experience, holding numerous senior positions in product and sales including Head of North American Treasury Product Management and Head of Treasury & Payment Solutions Sales for Capital Markets.  

Committed to delivering on the bank’s Digital First priorities, Derek has been instrumental in creating value for BMO’s clients. By activating a winning culture amongst his teams, he has enabled the advancement of digital capabilities and brought simplicity to complex financial processes. 

Based in Toronto, Derek currently serves on the Board of Directors of Moneris Corp, The Clearing House (TCH) PayCo and Board of Governors for Junior Achievement Central Ontario. He is former Board member of Interac Corp and Payments Canada. 

Derek holds an Executive MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business and Specialized Honours BA in Economics and Business from York University.
