Jim Eplett joined the BMO Real Estate Finance group in 2006 as head of commercial mortgage underwriting overseeing the commercial mortgage product including loan structuring, underwriting, operations, policy, portfolio management and special projects.  In 2018 Jim established BMO’s Canadian commercial mortgage backed securities (CMBS) program as Vice President Commercial Mortgages & Head CMBS. In 2023 Jim transitioned to BMO Global Asset Management to head the management of real estate private credit investment products. 

Jim has been in real estate for over 30 years.  He brings deep subject matter expertise to his role, with a broad background of CRE experience including term lending, construction finance, securitization, workouts, acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, leasing and investment sales. 

Jim holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at University of Western Ontario.
